font-family is used only to define the font to be used, “font:11px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;” would be incorrect, it should be “font:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;”.

font allows you to set all the font properties (except color) in one statement. For example you could use “font:bold 11px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;”

What is the difference between:
font:11px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;

and

font-family:11px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
????
I always thought that font was an html rather than a css tag…..
